Mark Buckland
Mark Buckland is the managing director of Cargo Publishing. In two years, Cargo has published over a dozen books, launched Scotland’s first ever digital label, set up its own festival in Margins and worked with everyone from the Japanese Government to UNESCO. It recently announced a four-book collaboration between Edinburgh International Book Festival and leading US publisher McSweeney’s including Roddy Doyle, Amy Bloom, Alasdair Gray and 47 other world-famous authors. Writers for 2012 on Cargo include Tom Leonard, Ewan Morrison, Andrew O’Hagan, Liz Lochhead and Alberto Manguel. Come and hear Mark as he talks about new technology, the future of the book, the exclusive revealing of a brand new magazine and where Scottish writing is headed.
